Hannah Stacey is a Theatre Director, Facilitator, and Youth Worker. Having worked across Yorkshire and London, she is now based in Basildon working on an Arts Council CPP.
Hannah is currently working full time for Creative Basildon, creating and programming projects that encourages creativity across the borough. You can contact her at hannah@creativebasildon.co.uk
Hannah lives, works and directs in London. She is available to travel for engagements.
Born in South East London, Hannah graduated from the University of Leeds with a 1st Class Honours in 2017 and continued living and working in the North until 2020.
After 6 years up North, Hannah moved back to London, but still has strong links in Yorkshire and regularly travels for work and social. She has worked in a range of Theatre Directing, Youth Work and Customer Facing roles. Hannah has experience in directing and devising, and is a confident workshop facilitator. Through COVID lockdowns, she devised a number of digital performances, using Zoom as a tool rather than forcing a piece to work online.
Hannah currently works for Creative Basildon (an Arts Council England funded Creative People and Places Projects), where she engages with the community, using their voice to create new programmes. She then project manages and produces large scale arts programmes, from workshop tours to murals and art installations like ‘Museum Of The Moon’ by Luke Jerram.
“I love experimenting with new styles and jumping into new projects. I am passionate about working with young people and communities, and making the arts accessible to everyone. I love working on pieces of new writing and devising work, especially those with a comic element. I am interested in experimenting around what we consider ‘conventional theatre’ through the application of non-traditional theatre practices, such as Aerial Arts and Martial Arts.”
